  Dear members/member practices,

  Highlights

Career conference and the HKICPA Source

As part of the 40th anniversary celebration, the Institute hosted career conference on 31 Aug. to bring together the profession's heavy-weights to talk about career development, future outlook and job prospects. More than 300 members attended the occasion. Hong Kong Economic Journal and South China Morning Post each featured in-depth stories based on topics covered at the conference, including one about transition from PAIPs to PAIBs. The special supplements highlighted CPAs as success ingredients in work, in business, and in society. Through the conference, members were introduced to the many opportunities available to them and ways of having a meaningful and fruitful career. Click to see conference photos.

At the same time, the Institute launched the online career portal – HKICPA Source – which is designed to help members and employers find each other by making use of this free service covering a wide selection of accounting and finance positions. The site has over 200 vacancies and will be updated regularly to include new openings in the market.

Headquarters: The Institute has moved four times during the course of its 40 years of history. In 1973, it opened with temporary offices at Duddell Street and later initial headquarters at Leeloong Building, Central. Ten years later, it moved to Belgian House, Wanchai, and in 1998, to Lippo Centre to cope with its ever expanding functions. In 2006, the Institute purchased 50,000 square feet of space at Wu Chung House for its new headquarters and member training and activities. Click here for past snippets.
