Institute President talks to media

Yachting courses
Want to try sailing on a yacht? Join the yachting course for novice sailors to learn the basic skills to steer the yacht and trim the sail. A series of comprehensive training will be held between May and August for yacht crew members.

Don't miss the Merry Monday on 12 May where Louis Wong will introduce selected wines and answer questions of interest from participants.
Last chance to enrol in the CPA basketball competition commencing in late May. Form your own team or join the Basketball Interest Group team now.
Join the level II of the vocal techniques and music theory class beginning on 15 May. Level I of the course is not a pre-requisite.
 

Institute supports "Future Stars" programme
The Institute has participated in the government's "Future Stars" programme to assist youths from less privileged families in preparing for their career. The Institute's charitable fund has sponsored 10 scholarships and the Institute will organize two career talks for the participating students. Council member K.M. EU audit market reform
The latest issue of the financial reporting and auditing alert covers the European Parliament's adoption of the amended Directive and Regulation earlier this month, which brings in a number of reforms to the audit market in Europe.

Proposed amendments to IFRS 10
The Institute has commented on IASB discussion regarding its proposed amendments to paragraph 4(a)(iv) of IFRS 10 Consolidated Financial Statements. +

IFAC Global Knowledge Gateway adds two new topics
Two new topics "Audit and Assurance" and "Practice Management" are added on the IFAC Global Knowledge Gateway, which aims to serve accountants in all sectors globally by providing streamlined access to relevant resources, news and discussions.

CPAs the champion runners

Winners of the SME Marathon Cup including the team of two past presidents Keith Pogson and Susanna Chiu who won the SME Chairman Cup received their prizes at the Standard Chartered Marathon Prize Presentation Ceremony on 9 April.
