Revenue from contracts with customers –
five steps to recognize revenue

HKFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers is effective for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2018. It establishes a framework for accounting for revenue from contracts with customers. This new standard will have a significant impact on how and when an entity recognizes revenue. In this article, Dr. K.P. Yuen of Hong Kong Polytechnic University elaborates the five-step model of HKFRS 15 for measuring and recognizing revenue from contracts with customer.
