  A Plus – Report on the results of audit regulatory reform consultation  

Institute members have shown support for Council's position on the proposed audit regulatory framework, according to the results of member consultation which ended in January. The March issue of A Plus looks into members' feedback and their concerns. Visit our dedicated web page for more information about the reform.

The magazine also features an interview with COSO Chairman Robert Hirth, China's booming car industry and CPAs who are passionate with music. A Plus is available on tablet / PDF formats and iOS / Android apps.

 

Compliance process review report
The Institute's Regulatory Accountability Board has completed a process review of the operations of Compliance Department. Click to see the report for findings and recommendations. Member forum on HKSAR constitutional development

Come join the free forum on 8 April, where Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs cum Constitutional Development Task Force member, and Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury will give an overview of the Consultation Document on the Methods for Selecting the Chief Executive in 2017 and for Forming the Legislative Council in 2016, and receive members' views on this topic. +

The valuation workshop series between April and May will cover practical issues and underlying principle relating to valuation, and how different valuation techniques can be applied to commonly-found illiquid assets.


Audit of brokers-dealers
The workshop on 26 March will talk about audit considerations in relation to brokers-dealers and auditor's responsibilities under the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Ordinance. +

Computer ethics: risk and anti-risk mechanism
How can computer ethics practice help reduce abusive behaviour in cyberspace? The seminar on 16 April will talk about common real abuse cases and their effects on business and finance functions, and provide tips to prevent it. +

Free Asia Intellectual Properties Exchange membership

Post marathon drink

All CPA runners are invited to the post-marathon drink on 7 April to share the excitement and experience after the Standard Chartered Marathon. We will present CPA marathon trophies (for members) and SRC marathon trophies (for QP graduates and students) to outstanding runners. Submit your official result by 24 March.


Reminder
At the Merry Monday on 7 April, dietician Alan Siu will deliver a health talk, in which you can sample some healthy and delicious vegetarian dishes prepared by him.
Last call to enrol in the beginner or intermediate snooker training courses starting on 23 March. Enrolment deadline has been extended to 16 March.
