A4S summit 2014

Prince Charles marked his Accounting for Sustainability Project’s 10th anniversary by setting a challenge to accountants worldwide at the A4S summit 2014 on 11 Dec. The project aims to convene senior leaders in the finance, accounting and investor community to pursue a sustainable economy. Click to see press release.


Early closing

The Institute and its library will close at 4 p.m. on 22 Dec. (winter solstice), 24 Dec. (Christmas Eve) and 31 Dec. (New Year's Eve).


Professional Diploma in Insolvency celebrates graduation

Congratulations to the 13 candidates who have successfully completed the Professional Diploma in Insolvency 2013-14. A graduation ceremony was held on 29 Oct. to present certificates of completion and awards for outstanding achievement. Click to see details and photos.


TUE sessions

The TUE sessions in January and February will cover guidance on preparation of combined financial statements, practical issues on HKFRS and common questions by SMPs when applying the code of ethics.


Global management accounting principles seminar

The seminar on 26 Jan. will talk about global management accounting principles and how they are applied in external reporting, management and budgetary control, and project and risk management. +

Competition results
Andy Leung and Gary Tam clinched the championship in the final match of the mini bridge tournament season on 13 Dec. Congratulations also to Dora Lo for winning the year-end grand prize, the Bridge Interest Group trophy. Click to see full results and photos.

Our golf team defeated the Hong Kong Medical Golfers Association's team in the annual golf tournament on 10 Dec. and became the 11-time champion. Click to see photos.

Our CPA runners won the championship of all the team categories including 10km, half marathon and full marathon races and many individual medals at the Recreation and Sports Club for Hong Kong Professional Bodies marathon competitions.
