  Apply for insolvency specialist designation to reflect your status  

The Specialist Designation in Insolvency is open to members with considerable experience and competence in insolvency practice, and who have gained the SQ (Insolvency). Holders of the designation are entitled to use "SD (Insolvency)" after their names. The current round of applications will close on 7 August.


Mainland tax conference discusses "One Belt, One Road" initiative

At the Mainland tax conference on 23 May, Zhan Li Ren, Director, International Tax of the Guangdong Provincial Local Taxation Bureau, explained the "One Belt, One Road" programme and what the bureau is doing to support the central government initiative. Inland Revenue Board of Review invites members

Sport competition results
Click to see photos of Chan Suk-king and Fok Tsz-him who won the championship at the CPA bridge tournament on 23 May. Samuel Mui and Tong Yat-chong placed second, while Michael Cheng and Andrew Yuen were third.

Yachting courses
Summer is the best season to enjoy water sports. Two yachting courses for beginners will be held between June and July.

Trail walking practices
Several trailwalker practices are organized in June and July for you to train up for the Oxfam Trailwalker in November.
 
Updates on the code of ethics
Members' handbook update no. 169 contains revised Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, while revised version of Ethics Circular 1 Guidance for Small and Medium Practitioners on the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants contains updated paragraph references to the code.

The Institute is seeking comments on IASB exposure draft on Effective Date of IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers (proposed amendments to IFRS 15).
