How can you improve the quality of audits? The Institute is holding a quality assurance forum on 15 Sept. to address significant and common deficiencies in quality control and audit work. It covers practice review initiatives and preparation, and common findings and action plans to enhance audit quality.


Audit issues in big data era

The seminar on 11 Sept. will teach you how to perform valuation of data, analyze consequences arising from failing to protect data and study other data protection and transitional issues. +


Risk management
Enrol in the workshop on risk management between October and November to sharpen your financial and management skills, and enhance your business acumen and commercial awareness. +

Learn more about tax regime development for intellectual property and legislative proposal for promoting Hong Kong as a corporate treasury centre at the seminar on 7 Sept. +

Don't miss the corporate finance workshop series starting from September which will cover securitization, financial statement analysis, commercial lending, and bank facility letters and term sheets.


"Belt and Road” seminar and database registration

Hong Kong Trade Development Council's free seminar on 17 Sept. will focus on emerging opportunities from Chinese outbound investment and the "Belt and Road” initiative. Members are encouraged to register with the TDC's "The Belt and Road" database, which will facilitate companies to seek Hong Kong professional services.

 
CPA table tennis competition

Challenge yourself at the CPA table tennis competition on 17 and 24 Oct., where men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles are available.


CPA football competition

Form a team to compete in the CPA football competition which will be held on weekends between November and January.

The Institute has published a circular on reporting to grantees of the Language Fund. +

Members' handbook update no. 172 contains new and revised standards on auditor reporting and auditor's responsibilities relating to other information.
 
Merry Monday on cycling adventure

At the Merry Monday on 5 Oct., speaker Humphrey Wilson, ICAEW member, will share his epic cycling adventure from London to Hong Kong and different cultures of European, Turkic and Chinese he encountered during the journey.


Marathon training

In preparation for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2016, a series of training for different levels of runners will start in October. CPA runners are also encouraged to join the free briefing session on 5 Oct.


Reminders
Calligrapher Lau Choi-cheong (劉才昌) will teach you Wang Xizhi's (王羲之) Xing Shu (行書) and Cao Shu (草書) at the calligraphy class starting on 12 Sept.

The classes of Waltz and Jazz Funk will start on 10 Sept. and 25 Sept. respectively.
