Annual dinner "CPAs Go Green"

The Institute's annual dinner will take place on 7 Dec. at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with the theme "CPAs Go Green" to tie in with the Institute's ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility. Members and member practices can sponsor a table to show their presence and support or donate lucky draw and table prizes. National Day celebration dinner

The 66th National Day celebration dinner for the accounting profession was held on 24 Sept. Guests of honour, K.C. Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury and Yin Xiaojing, Deputy Director, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR, joined the event with more than 700 CPAs and guests from the Mainland, Macau and Hong Kong. Register as CPA runners, marathon briefing and training

If you have successfully signed up for the Standard Chartered Marathon 2016 and would like to register as our CPA runners to enjoy pre- and post-marathon services, please provide us your reference number by clicking here.

briefing session on marathon preparation and training is scheduled on 5 Oct. and a series of training programmes will be held from October to January for different levels of runners. Join now to get prepared for the race.


Dance events


In October, Cha Cha Cha will be taught on Thursdays, while Jazz Funk and Jazz will be on Fridays and Saturdays respectively.
The October dance dinner will take place on 23 Oct. at "百樂會" in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Golf events

Come join the outbound golf trip to the Phoenix Hill Golf Club in Dongguan on 24 Oct. or golf day at the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club on 7 Nov. to play with fellow golf enthusiasts.

Hone your golf skills at the beginner or intermediate training class starting on 31 Oct. at the South China Athletic Association.

Challenge yourself at the annual CPA golf tournament on 29 Oct. at the Hong Kong Golf Club.


Bowling coaching courses

Enrol in the bowling coaching courses in October to improve your bowling skills.


Badminton technique training course

A badminton training course will be organized in November for members who want to improve their strokes and tactics.


CPA football competition

Form a team to compete in the CPA football competition which will be held on weekends between November and January. It is a seven-a-side game and the first match is scheduled on 7 Nov. at the Oxford Road Playground.


Institute's Oxfam Trailwalker

Ten Institute teams led by David Chan, Eva Chau, Pearl Chau, Lucia Leung, Ken Li, Gordon Liu, Y.W. Tong, Aqua Tsang, Martin Tse and Edward Yuen have set a target to finish 100km between 18 - 32 hours in this year's Oxfam Trailwalker on 20-21 Nov. It is a very tough physical challenge and please sponsor the teams (S69, 5028, 5029, 0067, 0068, 0069, 0070, 0704, 0783 and 1071) by making a donation to Oxfam.

CPA music night

Around 100 members and their friends attended the CPA music night on 19 Sept. to enjoy an evening with performances put together by Singing Interest Group members. Institute's President Dennis Ho and Vice Presidents Mabel Chan and Ivy Cheung also supported the event and participated in the finale performance. Click to see photos.


Dance fun night

The dance fun night on 12 Sept. received resounding success with over 100 members enjoying the performances and competitions. Thanks to Dance Interest Group Convenor Simty Yau and the organizing committee for bringing the joy to us. Sports and Recreation Committee Chairman Vincent Chan presented awards to the following winners:

Latin: Kitty Wong and Eva Tang (champion), Tracy Ng and Gary Lam (second), Lucia Fan and Cheung Chong-wah (third)

Ballroom: Simty Yau and Victor Yeung (champion), Lucia Fan and Cheung Chong-wah (second), Mandy Wong and Raymond So (third).

Astrophotography programme

More than 30 members participated in the astrophotography programme, including tutorial classes and field trips led by Photography Interest Group Deputy Convenor Anntice Lai. Click to see photos.

Merry Monday

Don't miss the Merry Monday on 5 Oct. where speaker Humphrey Wilson, an ICAEW member, will share his epic cycling adventure – a 9-month journey from London to Hong Kong, including the thrill, challenge and satisfaction.


Tennis training course

The elementary tennis course in October is now open for enrolment. Consisting of four 2-hour training sessions, the course will have experienced coaches providing structural training and practice.


Green planting and ESG workshop

Come join the tree planting activity for young members on 17 Oct. at Peng Chau which also includes a workshop on environmental, social and governance matters and how CPAs can contribute to the society's future.


Parenting seminar: Parents as partners for kindergarten preparation

Join the seminar on 24 Oct. which will cover the importance of family partnerships and parents' involvement in promoting children's development and school readiness, including tips for the development of pre-school children, how to select kindergartens and prepare your children for kindergarten.

Recruitment of CPA bridge representative team

Put forward your name if you wish to represent the Institute in the annual RSCP bridge tournament on 22 Nov. All applicants will undergo a selection process, which is based on players' past results in Institute's events, table manner and team spirit.

 
  Competitions and awards

RSCP tenpin bowling tournament

Congratulations to the Institute's bowling team for retaining the championship for three consecutive years in the RSCP tenpin bowling tournament on 27 Sept. against dentists, doctors, lawyers and surveyors.

The team was also awarded for achieving the highest 992 pinfalls among one of the four games played and Darren Lee and Manson Pang were winners of the individual high game. Click to see photos.

An RSCP united football team consisting of Institute members, barristers, dentists, doctors and lawyers beat the Wah Yan College Kowloon alumni football team with a score of 2:1 in the friendly match on 13 Sept. Click to see photos.
