  New QP position paper released  

The Institute released the Position Paper for the CPA Qualifying Process Reform at the media briefing on 4 Jan. The position paper sets out the final content and structure of the new Qualification Programme which will train accountants to continue to meet the changing market needs and international standards. New president meets media
At the "new president meets the press" session last Friday, Mabel Chan talked about audit regulatory reform, new QP, engagement with members, other plans for 2017, as well as her career path. Standard Chartered Marathon runner's pack and briefing

Audit Practice Manual (2016 edition)
The HKICPA Audit Practice Manual (2016 edition) is now available for sale. The revamped manual includes a number of new programmes and checklists together with revised guidance notes and sample audit files addressing the latest auditing and disclosure requirements.

Members' handbook updates
Update no. 192 relates to new standard Responding to Non-Compliance with Laws and Regulations;

Update no. 193 covers: amendments to various HKFRS standards (effective for annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 Jan. 2016); new HKSIR 200 re guidance on the preparation of accountant's report under the Hong Kong listing rules (effective for investment circulars dated on or after 1 July 2017); and new guidance on revised HKSIR 400 (effective immediately).
