News highlights

Marathon update

Standard Chartered Marathon 2017 is fast approaching and thanks to you we have secured a booth for this year! Please come visit us at the Causeway Bay Sports Ground, next to the Hong Kong Central Library, on marathon day to enjoy hot food, drinks and physiotherapy.

Watch for your runner's pack between 6-10 Feb. if you have requested office delivery. If you will collect the runner's pack at the Institute office, please come between 6-10 Feb. during office hours.

Don't forget to join the marathon briefing on 3 Feb. to learn more about the best strategies to prepare for the race.

Upcoming events

Dragon boat team recruitment
The Institute is recruiting dragon boat team members for the 2017 race season. The training will begin on 19 Feb. in Sai Kung and members with no experience are also welcome to join. Selection of team members will be based on members' performance, commitment and team spirit during training.

Golf events
	Last chance to sign up for the outbound Golf Day at Phoenix Hill Golf Club in Dongguan on 18 Feb.
	Hone your golf skills at the Play with a Golf Professional and Advanced Short Game both on 4 March. Classes will be taught by golf professionals Eric Ma and Paul Riley.
	Come join the Golf Day at Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course on 13 March where South Course and East Course are available for players of different levels.

Dance events
	In mid-February, Cha Cha Cha and Rumba will be taught on Thursdays, while Jazz will continue on Saturdays.
	The February dance dinner will take place on 24 Feb. at "百樂會" in Tsim Sha Tsui.

3-on-3 basketball competition
Form a team of four to compete in the 3-on-3 Basketball Competition on 4 March at Tai Wo Hau Sports Centre. Male and female teams are both welcome.

Tennis training
Sign up now for the 4-session elementary and intermediate tennis courses where experienced coaches will provide structural training and practice. Both courses will commence in mid-March subject to venue availability.

HKAAA membership
By virtue of HKICPA's membership, you can join HKAAA to enjoy priority enrolment in the Standard Chartered Marathon and other popular races. Click here for details and online registration, or to renew your membership.

Last call: calligraphy

The 15-session calligraphy class taught by famous calligrapher Lau Choi-cheong (劉才昌) on Xing Shu (行書 - 蘭亭序) will commence on 9 Feb.

Competitions and awards

	Fourth mini bridge tournament
	The final match of the 2016 mini bridge tournament concluded on 7 Jan. Congratulations to Francis Hui and Samuel Mui for clinching the championship. Francis also won the year-end Bridge Interest Group Trophy. Click to see results and photos.

	CPA football competition
	The CPA football competition concluded on 22 Jan. Thanks to all 20 teams who competed this year. HLB won the championship by beating EY 3:1. Winson Leung from KPOB took home the medal for speedy scorer with a goal in under one minute. Click to see results and photos.

Photography sharing session

The Photography Interest Group's January sharing session featured a talk by famous photographer Catkaling, who spoke about her most recent series, "Firework's Alive", her creative insight and related photography techniques. Click to see photos.

Ngong Ping Charity Walk

Eight Institute members competed in the annual Ngong Ping Charity Walk on 15 Jan. Congratulations to Edwin Yeung, Frenda So, Bryan Lee, and Jeremy Chiu who placed second in the 20 km walk. Click to see photos.

	Swapping interest groups
	If you wish to swap your choices for interest groups in the coming year, login to MyCPA and make the changes before 31 Jan. Each member is allowed to join up to five interest groups.
