HKEX consultation on a proposed new board
Franky Chung, Senior Vice President of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd., is invited to speak at the Corporate Finance Interest Group's lunch seminar on 20 July, to give an overview of the key features of the proposed new board.

Practical planning on Customs/VAT
The seminar on 25 July will cover indirect tax planning on exporting to the U.S. and Europe.

China money market insights
The seminar on 28 July will cover China money market updates, liquidity management and liquidity investment options there, and the business accounting and possible tax implications.

2017 Asia economy: a fragile recovery?
Enrol in the seminar on 8 Aug. to learn more about the economic trend and associated risks of Asia so that your company can establish credit control measures when trading with companies in Asia.

Register for the educational tour of LegCo, co-organized by the Institute and the Office of the Hon. Kenneth Leung, LegCo Member (Accountancy Functional Constituency), on 22 or 29 July.
Enrol in the seminar on 9 Aug. to get prepared for tax season ahead of the implementation of Common Reporting Standards in 2018.
The executive programme, starting on 12 Aug., will help you understand the roles and responsibilities of independent non-executive directors, including considerations in accepting appointment, legal and regulatory issues, corporate governance skills and strategies to perform INED roles effectively.

HKIB Annual Banking Conference 2017

Invitation to comment

The Institute is seeking comments on the IASB Exposure Draft ED/2017/4 Property, Plant and Equipment – Proceeds before Intended Use (Proposed amendments to IAS 16). Comments should be submitted by 15 Sept.

RSCP basketball competition

Congratulations to the Institute's team for clinching its 5th consecutive championship at the RSCP basketball competition on 25 June. Kurkye Wong was awarded both Most Valuable Player and Steal Leader, and Foreky Wong was the winner of the three-point shoot out game. Click to view photos.
