News highlights

	National Day Celebration Dinner
	The 69th National Day Celebration Dinner for the accounting profession will take place on 4 Sep at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Mark your calendar and details of the event will be announced in due course.

	Sports and Recreation Night
	Come celebrate the achievements of our CPA sports stars at the Sports and Recreation Night on 27 Jul at the Grand Stage. Over 200 members and friends from the 15 sports and recreation interest groups will join this fun-filled annual gathering. The evening includes exciting games, performances and lucky draws. Sign up now!

	HKAAA membership
	Remember to apply or renew your Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association membership for 2018 (and affiliate with your Institute membership) before 10 Jul to enjoy priority entry for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2019.

Upcoming events

Dance events
	Elementary level samba and intermediate level cha-cha-cha classes will both begin on 5 Jul in Wanchai.
	Join the next round of beginner jazz classes on 14 Jul in Mongkok.
	Dance and dine at the monthly dance dinner on 20 Jul at 百樂會 in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Snooker training courses and Snooker League
	Sign up for the 4-sesson beginner or intermediate weekly snooker training courses starting on 22 Jul to brush up your snooker skills.
	Compete with fellow snooker enthusiasts at the Snooker League beginning on 5 Aug. It is a mixed league where male and female players will compete against each other.

Bowling training courses
Sign up for the 6-session beginner and intermediate training courses starting on 4 Aug at the South China Athletic Association Bowling Centre to improve your bowling technique.

Tennis training course
Join the tennis training courses starting on 7 Aug and learn from a professional coach. Elementary and intermediate sessions are available.

Volleyball representative team recruitment
The Institute is recruiting members to participate in the Recreation and Sports Club for Hong Kong Professional Bodies Volleyball Tournament. Interested members should submit their names and competition history by 10 Jul. A selection process will be conducted. Shortlisted members will be required to participate in scheduled training from August and competition will begin in November or December.

Football League
Football Interest Group is inviting members who are football enthusiasts to form a team to participate in either 7-a-side or 11-a-side league, to be held between August 2018 and July 2019. Sign up to enjoy the competitive games and improve football skills with fellow members.

Competitions and Awards

	Dragon boat races
	Congratulations to the Institute's dragon boat team for coming third at the Sun Life Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships Mixed Bronze Plate Final on 18 Jun and second at the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races Fancy Dress Competition on 22-24 Jun. 	Deloitte Invitational Tournament
	The Institute's badminton team won the Deloitte Invitational Tournament on 10 Jun. Other participating teams included EY, KPMG and PwC. Click to see photos.

	Five-Point Invitational Competition
	Congratulations to the Institute's badminton and table tennis teams who won the competition on 3 Jun against several government departments, including Audit Commission, Companies Registry, Inland Revenue Department and The Treasury. Click to see photos.

	Marathon results
	The team of Immediate Past President Mabel Chan and Nicholas Ball won the Chairman Cup of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2018. The duo, together with winners of the Chamber of Commerce Cup, received awards at the prize presentation ceremony on 31 May. Click to see results and photos.
