National Day Celebration Dinner
More than 700 members and guests joined the 69th National Day celebration dinner for the accounting profession on 4 Sep. The guests of honour this year were Tan Tieniu, Deputy Director, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Yang Yirui, Deputy Commissioner, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the HKSAR; and Joseph Chan, Acting Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury. Oxfam Trailwalker
Institute teams led by Albert Au (team number 8031), Ellen Cheng (8032), Juni Ngai (8033), Pearl Chau (8086), Francis Yuen (0065) and Patrick Law (0068), will participate in Oxfam Trailwalker this year. To support them, please make donations to Oxfam by clicking on their team numbers above, or consider signing up to join the support team over the weekend.

Dance events

Intermediate level rumba and elementary level jive classes will both begin on 4 Oct in Wanchai.
The next round of beginner jazz class will begin on 20 Oct in Mongkok.
Dance and dine at the monthly dance dinner on 12 Oct at 百樂會 in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Golf events

Come join the golf day and tee off with your fellow members at Phoenix Hill Golf Club in Dongguan on 13 Oct.
The enrolment deadline for the CPA golf tournament on 25 Oct has been extended. Grab the chance to join and compete against fellow members for the Wong Tan Cup, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Trophy and more!

Snooker training courses

Sign up for the 4-sesson beginner or intermediate weekly snooker training courses starting on 14 Oct to brush up your snooker skills.

 

 


Marathon training programme

Pick from one of the marathon training programmes starting in October / November, which are structured for runners of different levels to advance at a pace matching your ability. Also, if you have successfully enrolled for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2019, don't forget to register with the Institute as a CPA Runners to enjoy pre- and post-race support.


Singing technique classes

Enrol in the singing technique classes starting in October to improve your vocal skill for singing pop songs. Join a class that suits your level or the stage performance technique class to build up your confidence on stage.

 


CPA football competition

Form a team to compete in the annual CPA football competition which will be held on weekends between November and January.



 


CPA Singing Contest

Showcase your vocal talents at the CPA Singing Contest on 17 Nov, where solo and group entries are welcome. In addition to the top prizes, contestants can also compete for the Best Stage Presence and My Favorite Performance awards.

Indoor dragon boat races

The Institute's dragon boat team came second in the Men's and Women's Individual Open Competition, the Group Relay Open, and O50 categories at the 8th Hong Kong Indoor Dragon Boat Championship organized by the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association on 19 Aug. Congratulations to the team members for the results and for their efforts and hard practicing before the event. Click to see photos.

 


Homeless World Cup Fundraising Tournament

The Institute's football team won the championship in the "仁愛盃" category of the Homeless World Cup Fundraising Tournament on 8-9 Sep. Click to see photos.

 

 


RSCP Table Tennis Tournament

Congratulations to the Institute's table tennis team for clinching the championship on 9 Sep of the RSCP Table Tennis Tournament for the second consecutive year. Click to see photos.

 

 


RSCP Ten-pin Bowling Tournament

The Institute's bowling team placed second in the RSCP Ten-pin Bowling Tournament on 9 Sep against teams from other professional bodies. Click to see results and photos.

 

 


Dance fun night

Over 120 members and guests enjoyed performances, competitions, and games at the dance fun night, organized by the Dance Interest Group on 15 Sep. The champions of the Latin dance competition were Lucia Fan and Gary Lam, and the champions of the Ballroom dance were Simty Yau and Victor Yeung. Click to see photos.

  Other events
 

Joint professional networking event for young members – Beyond the Stage of Cantonese Opera

Come to the joint professional networking event on 13 Oct and hear from a Cantonese opera rising star, Li Pui Yan, on what drives her to pursue a career in this field. The sharing session will also introduce the costumes and make-up styles of sheng (male role) and dan (female role), as well as the singing styles and performing techniques used in Cantonese opera. Don't miss this excellent opportunity to build your network with young members from other professional bodies over drinks and canapés, and have fun trying on opera costumes.
