Tackling HKFRS 9

The implementation of HKFRS 9 Financial Instruments is one of the most comprehensive changes in accounting standards since the adoption of IFRS in Hong Kong. Set to take effect in 2018, it aims to bring in more useful and timelier information, but also presents challenges for financial institutions and corporate entities, as they need to rethink their businesses.

The Institute¡¦s mutual recognition agreement with CPA Australia has been renewed with effect from 1 July 2015 on new terms that CPA Australia members must pass the QP final examination to obtain the Institute membership.
