Dear members,

Earthquake relief appeal

Since we issued our appeal to help earthquake victims in Sichuan, we have received a generous response from our members and Institute staff. As of today, one week after we issued our appeal, 302 donors have given $1,181,460. The Hong Kong Institute of CPAs Charitable Fund has topped this up to $1,500,000. All our contributions will go to the Red Cross as stated in our earlier appeal to aid its efforts in saving lives, looking after the injured and undertaking disease prevention work.

To all, we want to say a huge thank you for the compassion you have shown. We have established on our website a daily tally on contributions from our members, along with a list of our members who have donated money towards our earthquake relief appeal.

I know many of our members would still wish to contribute to the humongous task of re-building the affected area that will be on-going.
