 IFAC IES7 on Continuing Professional Development: A Program of Lifelong Learning and Continuing Development of Professional Competence

The Institute issues an Invitation to Comment on International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) International Education Standard for Professional Accountants (IES) 7. Comments are requested by
31 March 2005.

Unlike our current CPD Scheme, the new standard requires all professional accountants, irrespective of whether he/she is in public practice or not, to complete 120 hours or equivalent learning units of relevant professional development activities in each rolling three-year period, of which 60 hours or equivalent learning units should be verifiable; and that a minimum of 20 hours or equivalent learning units should be completed in each year.
