T
he Institute has clinched two awards from the 2005 Hong Kong Management Association Best Annual
Reports Awards competition - an honourable mention and citation for achievement in corporate governance disclosure.
On 7 Nov., HKMA chairman Dr. The Hon David Li presented the prizes to the Institute's representatives Wilson Fung, chairman of the Administration, Finance and Remuneration Committee, and Winnie Cheung, chief executive and registrar.

CPD Declaration is Coming
B
e reminded that CPD declaration time is fast approaching! In order to renew your membership, you'll need to complete your CPD declaration form for 2005 showing
you've completed 40 hours of CPD in this reporting year.
Starting on 1 Dec. the new mandatory CPD requirements ask members to complete a minimum of 120 CPD hours in each rolling three-year period, of which 60 hours should be verifiable. A minimum of 20 hours of the 120 hours must be completed each year.

Comments on IAASB ED Invited
T
he Institute has issued an Invitation to Comment on the IAASB Exposure Draft of "Improving the Clarity of IAASB
Standards." This Exposure Draft is important to all those interested in auditing standards because it sets the style and format for future auditing standards.

ongratulations to Mark Cheung who won the Wong Tan Cup and Marvin Cheung (pictured on the left
with Roger Best) who won the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Trophy at the Institute's golf tournament on 3 Nov. Thanks to Fong Hup, chairman of the Institute's Golf Society, for coordinating the event, in which 17 members took part.
