Walk for healthy life
T
he Institute participated in the MTR Hong Kong Race Walking on 9 April
to help raise funds for public health education. Mark Fong, the Institute's vice president, joined the "MTR Chairman's Invitational," and the Institute's sports team, Stanley Choi, Crystal Ho, Fion Lai and Lawrence Leung, contested in the corporate competition. The event drew more than 1,000 walkers.

Women accountants on air

THK has produced a series of programmes showing how
women professionals handle their careers and family. On its invitation, the Institute introduced RTHK to our member Lusan Hung, who talked about her experience. Please click here to see the programme that was broadcasted on 26 March. As a gift, RTHK has given us 90 sets of note pads, which is now available for women members to collect at the Institute's Lippo office while stock lasts.

Farewell Sir Gordon
T
he Institute bid farewell to its founding president, Sir Gordon
Macwhinnie, on 30 March. The farewell lunch took place at the Hong Kong Club and was participated by many past presidents and founding members. "I will miss all my friends in Hong Kong," Sir Gordon said at the lunch, after which he left Hong Kong for retirement in England with his family.

The Institute has introduced MyCPA - a personalized web page for you to keep CPD records and check annual subscription payment status. Please logon the member section of the Institute's website at www.hkicpa.org.hk to try the new system. We will be adding more features, including links to articles and websites of interest. The HKSAR government's Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong is organising a free seminar jointly with the Guangdong Local Taxation Bureau on 26 April to discuss Mainland tax policies for Hong Kong investors.

The Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association is organising a luncheon talk on 26 April to study the governance issue of the retirement schemes industry in Hong Kong.
