International recognition
he Hong Kong CPA qualification has received an extra boost internationally. On 27 September, the Institute signed an agreement with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland extending recognition benefits to mainland QP graduates. On 29 September, the Institute signed a mutual exam paper exemptions agreement with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants which is extended to all Institute members. Click here for more.

Students positive on career prospects
ccounting students are more confident about finding jobs than non-accounting students, according to the Institute's recent survey, which also found that demand for accountants exceeds supply. Click here for more.

World Congress of Accountants
he 17th World Congress of Accountants is being held on 13-16 November in Istanbul. Click here to find out more about this accounting Olympic event, held every four years.
Deadline for joining ICAEW ends on 31 Dec 07
The three-year period for eligible non-QP qualified members to join the ICAEW under the membership agreement signed with the ICAEW in 2004 will end on 31 December 2007. Apply now to enjoy a host of benefits from technical support to library services. The admission fee to ICAEW for Institute members has been reduced by half to ¢G250. Click here for more.
Get authorized to train CPAs
Register as an authorized employer or supervisor to attract top-notch candidates to your companies. Over 800 employers and 1,300 supervisors have registered with the Institute to train budding CPAs in Hong Kong. The Institute's authorized employer/authorized supervisor scheme has been adopted by ACCA and CPA Australia for qualifying experience for their members in Hong Kong.
Financial reporting update
The Institute is seeking comments on IFRIC draft interpretation D20 Customer Loyalty Programmes. The Institute has issued HK(IFRIC)-Int 10 Interim Financial Reporting and Impairment under Members' Handbook Update 32.
