SEC busts unregistered auditors

The U.S. securities and Exchange Commission has charged 37 unregistered audit firms and 32 audit partners with violating the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The auditors have opined on financial statements of public companies allegedly without registering with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, according to CFO.com. +


CFO optimism nosedives

Two-thirds of U.S. CFOs are negative on the U.S. economy with worries about weak consumer demand, wage inflation and repercussions from the credit crunch, according to a recent survey, CFO.com reports. +
