Council election results
 

Click here to see the names of the seven newly elected council members. The results will be officially announced at the AGM this Friday, 14 Dec., 5:30 p.m. at 27/F., Wu Chung House. The new president and vice presidents will be elected at a special meeting afterwards.

A new service, CPA e-shop, is now available for members to select premium products online with special discounts and free delivery. Christmas is coming and it's time to buy your gifts. +

Budget surplus

Deloitte has predicted Hong Kong's budget surplus will be HK$70 billion this financial year and suggested a rates concession and tax refunds, according to SCMP.com. +


FASB as part of IASB

The chairman of the U.S. Financial Accounting Standards Board says his wish list includes making FASB the U.S. branch of the International Accounting Standards Board, AccountancyAge.com reports. +

The U.S. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has published a staff audit practice guide, giving auditors additional information on auditing fair value measurements and disclosures. +
   
A paper on accounting for the credit crisis has been issued by Ernst & Young Global. +
   
PwC Global has published a new guidance on IFRIC 13 Accounting for Customer Loyalty Programmes to help clarify the impact of the interpretation. +
