The U.S. subprime credit crisis is still bringing casualties to the world's financial markets as shown by the latest job cuts of big investment banks. The Institute's financial services interest group's lunch seminar on 10 July will look into the crisis. +

 
       

Companies Ordinance rewrite - 3rd consultation

The government has issued the third three-month consultation about rewriting the Companies Ordinance in relation to share capital, capital maintenance and statutory amalgamation. Fifty copies of the consultation document are available at the Institute's counter for members to collect on a first-come-first-served basis. New IFAC guide on investment decisions

IFAC's professional accountants in business committee has released new guidance on the use of discounted cash flow analysis and net present value in evaluating investments, another initiative to promote international good practice on financial and management accounting. +


Volunteer call

The Institute is forming a CPA volunteer team to support the long-term recovery projects in Sichuan quake-hit zones. After signing up for the voluntary service programme 『義工攜手建四川計劃』co-organized by the Agency for Volunteer Service and the RTHK, each volunteer must commit to providing 100 service hours in next five years to the programme. Register now to help the homeless victims.
