Top FPE Candidates in the June 2005 Session

We toast to the success of the top three candidates of the FPE in June 2005 session. The prizewinners for gold, silver and bronze awards are Ms. Lee Chui Shan, Ms. Tang Yan and Ms. Li Miu Yee. All of them obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration in Professional Accountancy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2004 and they are now working in PricewaterhouseCoopers as Associates. Here are their examination tips:

Prizewinner of Gold Award – Ms. Lee Chui Shan
An in-depth study plan helps in the FPE. The plan should be detailed enough to include the estimated time to spend and the focused topics of each Module. To plan the timetable, it is essential that you are clear how much you are going to study and where to focus on. To do so, an analysis on the past paper trends and the special topic list is necessary. As a whole, FPE encourages an overall understanding of the four Modules that requires dedication whereas on-the-job training on these four related areas is also beneficial.

Prizewinner of Silver Award - Ms. Tang Yan
The FPE is the final stage of the Qualification Programme. Studying for it is no more than what make you succeed in the module examinations – Be familiar with the special topics. Prepare your own studying notes. Practise the past papers.

Then, it's possible!

Prizewinner of Bronze Award - Ms. Li Miu Yee
CPA QP is an examination that emphasizes the importance of applying technical knowledge into practical business context rather than just quoting the "hard" knowledge. Besides, establishing good soft skills such as presentation skill, reading skill, analytical skill, organizational skill and time management technique will definitely help you in the assessments.

Time management is significantly important especially in the written exam. Since the exam time is really limited, it is particularly difficult for you to read and analyze the case, to search from your reference materials, to organize your answers and more importantly, to write it down in the limited time! Answer all questions is very critical. Hope you will be the next top scorer in the coming exam!

Important notice for candidates attempting – Module A of May 2005 Session

Please note that all accounting standards in issue as at the cut-off date of the six-month rule (i.e. 20 March 2005) are assumed to be adopted for all accounting periods mentioned in the paper unless otherwise stated in the questions.

Examination Regulations

Candidates should read the Examination Regulations carefully. These can be found in the Candidate Handbook and the Instructions to Candidates sent together with the EAD. The following are just some of the examination regulations that candidates should observe strictly:

Failure to do so may render your examination scripts unmarked.

  • Do Not Tear the Script Booklet

  • Write the Question Numbers Clearly
