  Examination regulations

Candidates should read the examination regulations carefully. A full list of regulations is published in the candidate handbook and examination attendance dockets. The followings are some of the examination regulations that candidates must follow strictly:
  • Reading time (for final examination candidates only)
    During the reading time in the final examination, candidates are only allowed to read the questions; plan and organize their answers such as by jotting down points on the question booklet or flagging the relevant information on the materials brought to the examination hall, etc. Candidates are NOT permitted to organize the answers on rough paper. If you wish to write down any points, it must be done on the question booklet. The writing of answers in the script booklet is NOT allowed until candidates are instructed that they may do so by the examination supervisor.

  • Use appropriate script booklet
    Candidates are required to use the appropriate script booklet to answer respective section of the examination paper, i.e. case on the case script booklet, essay / short questions on the essay / short questions script booklet. Failure to do so may render your examination scripts unmarked.

  • Write the question numbers clearly

  • Do not tear the script booklet

  • Do not use pencil

QP learning support centre

Are you well prepared for your examinations? Please read the online QP learning support centre notice board regularly. All important announcements and updates on examination-related information will be posted there.

To strengthen your technical knowledge, many useful technical articles, hyperlinks to Big Four websites and other online technical resources, have been posted on the notice board. Online examination assistance seminars

Examination assistance seminars for Module B - Financial Management, Module D - Taxation and Final Examination have been held in April and May 2007. Webcast videos of these seminars are now available online to assist your revision. Visit the QP learning support centre to watch the videos.



Revision courses

The Institute will offer revision courses for candidates sitting the Modules A and C examinations. The revision courses will commence in June 2007. Click here for more information.
 
 
 
  Collect your candidate learning packs for the May 2007 module session

QP students who have enrolled in the May 2007 session can collect their candidate learning pack(s) at the Institute's service counter on 27/F, Wu Chung House during office hours from 25 May to 9 June 2007. Collect your study materials now to get off to a quick start!

  Authorized employer/supervisor experience for membership admission

For admission to membership of the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs, practical experience acquired on or after 1 January 2005 will only be counted if it is gained under an Institute-authorized employer or supervisor.

If you are not currently working under an authorized employer or authorized supervisor, please urge your employer / supervisor to apply for registration as authorized employer / authorized supervisor with the Institute such that your relevant practical experience can be recognized for membership admission.

Not all sentences need a comma. Simple sentences just don't need one. Modern writing styles certainly require fewer commas than would have been traditional in the past.   Library opening hours during examinations period

To help QP candidates in their examination preparation, the Institute is pleased to announce the extension of its library opening hours from 14 May to 8 June 2007. The extended hours for the period are as follows:

Monday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

New book release

<計出未來 -- 香港十二大會計師行> is a new publication co-authored by a group of founding members of the Young Accountants Association. Written in a lively approach, the book aims to give readers a better understanding of the accountancy profession in Hong Kong. It covers a series of featured interviews with partners as well as young accountants of the 12 biggest CPA firms in Hong Kong - sharing their experience and how's the accountant's life is like. Read it and you shall know more. Copies are now available at the Institutes' library.

PRC CPA exam

Enrolment to the 2007 PRC CPA Uniform Examination (中華人民共和國註冊會計師統一考試) has begun. Please register through the Institute by 9 June 2007.

The Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship 2008/09
