1. Minimum CPD Requirements & Differential CPD Requirements

All members, except retired members, are required to:

Complete at least 120 hours or equivalent learning units of relevant professional development activity in each rolling three-year period, of which 60 hours should be verifiable;
   
Complete at least 20 of the 120 hours in each year.
All members, except retired members, are required to take a minimum of 40 hours per year;
   
Members holding a Practising Certificate are required to undertake 15 structured hours per year;
   
Members not holding a PC are encouraged to target 15 structured CPD hours per year.
2. Criteria for Retired Members for exemption from the CPD Requirements
Retired members, for the purpose of CPD, are members who are above 55 years of age and no longer in full time employment.
   
Retired members exclude:
     
  Ø Those who are holding directorship of listed companies, and/or
     
  Ø those who are holding a Practising Certificate of the Institute
Retired members, for the purpose of CPD, are members who are above 55 years of age and no longer in full time employment.
   
A PC holder, irrespective of his/her code of practice, is not regarded as having retired from public practice.
3. Declaration of CPD Compliance All members, including retired members, are required to submit a Declaration of CPD Compliance at the time of their annual membership renewal. 4. Cycle A rolling three-year period is adopted. A one-year cycle is being adopted.
5. Monitoring Process
An annual CPD declaration by all members on whether they have achieved the CPD requirements as stipulated; and
   
An annual CPD audit on the CPD achievement of a certain percentage of members.
   
Practice Units should put in place an effective monitoring system to track CPD activities for their staff as part of their quality assurance framework. Their CPD documents are subject to review and assessment in practice review programmes.
   
CPD documents of Practice Units are subject to review and assessment in practice inspection programmes.
An annual CPD declaration by all members as whether they have completed the CPD requirements as stipulated; and
   
An annual CPD audit on a certain percentage of PC holders and Non-PC holders.
6. Enforcement Failure to comply with the CPD requirements will result in membership/PC being not renewed under PAO 28(2)(c) and 30(8)(a) and (b). Failure to comply with the CPD requirements will result in membership/PC being not renewed under PAO 28(2)(c) and 30(8)(a) and (b).
7. Retention of Documentation A minimum of five-year retention period is required. A minimum of two-year retention period is required.
