Application and Registration



Student application and registration is launching soon in late September 2019.

Important notes for recognised degree holders and Professional Bridging Examination graduates:

The last offering of the Current QP is June 2020.  If you wish to register as a student under Current QP and enroll in Modules A, B, C or D, please visit the webpage of Current QP.


Student Application


Create account:

You only need to create your account once throughout your journey with the Institute. You can use the same account to login in case you need to reapply or re-register as student in the future. 



You are required to conduct a self-assessment regarding module exemption at the Associate Level.  Please consult your education provider about the exempted modules available from the Institute's accredited programmes.  Required Learning outcomes of Module 1 – 10 can be found here.


Upload documents:

Clear digital copies (jpg or pdf; each file should be less than 2MB) of the following documents are required to be uploaded:

  • Identity documents (e.g. HKID, passport, passport photo);

  • Official transcripts and certificates;

  • Syllabus (for graduates of non-accredited programmes)

  • Any other supporting documents


To complete the application, you are required to settle the application fee and assessment fee (if applicable) by the application deadline by PPS / Credit card.


Application result:

You will be notified of the application result which will normally be available before the enrolment deadline of each examination session or two months after the date of submission of completed application documents. 


Student Registration


You have to confirm acceptance of the application result within the prescribed time limit and settle the exemption fee and annual fee as appropriate.  Thereafter, you will be successfully registered as a student of the Institute.

Important points to note:

  1. All applications MUST be supported by documentary evidence of academic achievements and the Institute has the right to examine the original or certified true copy of the documents.

  2. Applicants who have completed the PRC CPA Uniform Examination - Under the agreement signed between the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs and CICPA, Hong Kong Institute of CPAs will forward the following documents to CICPA for certification purpose: "Certificate of Completion" (全科合格證) of the PRC CPA Uniform Examination (全國統一考試) or CICPA membership certificate, a photo and identity card / passport copy.

  3. Failure to submit all the required items (e.g. transcripts, syllabus, fee(s)) will cause delay to your application and you may not be able to enroll in the coming examination session in time.

  4. Submission of application - The application and required items must be submitted to the online Student Information System by the application deadline.

  5. Acknowledgement - Applicants will receive an email notification to acknowledge their successful application.  If you do not receive the email, your application may deem unsuccessful.  Please contact the Student Admission Team at for assistance.

Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance: Your personal data collected from this application will be used for the purposes relating to the administration of the Professional Accountants Ordinance and Professional Accountants By-laws. In addition, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("the Institute") may use the collected data for statistical research and analysis, and for keeping students informed of its services. The provision of personal data by means of this application is voluntary. However, insufficient information may result in rejection of an application. Such data collected may be accessible by the Institute's officers, persons or committees processing the registration, examination and related matters.The data may also be accessible by or transferred to any authorized personnel including (but not limited to) agents, contractors, consultants, or advisers performing any statutory or administrative functions on behalf of the Institute.
Unless otherwise agreed, hard copies of any documents containing your personal data that you provide to the Institute will become the property of the Institute and will not be returned to you. The Institute will destroy any documents it holds in accordance with its internal policy and applicable laws.
