Live webinar: TCFD based reporting of capacity to transition to net-zero carbon emissions

10 May. The Institute and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology jointly organize this webinar to address the perspectives of companies, investors and auditors on:

Current progress on major Hong Kong companies implementing Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures' (TCFD) recommendations;
Practical ways for companies to follow TCFD's recommendations, and hence ISSB's Climate Standard to report their capacity to reach net zero, providing investors results which are easy to compare and evaluate.

Entities Listing on HKEX Series

May to June. This series of webinars covers preliminary IPO planning considerations, the IPO process, ESG reporting, the continuing obligations of a listed entity with the objective of enhancing participants' understanding of the key aspects for listing, merger and acquisition of listed/ listing entities on HKEX, as well as the financial restructuring of listed companies in distress amid COVID-19 and the effective measures to deal with the fraud and financial accounting scandals.

TF webinar: Tax implications of digital economy – new business models, new controversies

17 May. In this live webinar, the speakers will recap the Inland Revenue Department's latest views on the taxation of the digital economy, e-commerce businesses and digital assets, as well as highlight the potential tax issues around cryptocurrency and NFT transactions and share some recent practical cases.

Investment series – Analyzing financial statements for accountants

18 May. The speaker will discuss financial risk analysis, top ten financial ratios used by local analysts, the limitations of financial ratios, and how to legitimately manage collection period and gearing ratio.

FSIG e-seminar ‒ SFC/Stock Exchange Investigations and Proceedings against Listed Companies and Directors (archived webinar)

E-seminar. The speakers provide an overview and practical guidance for the investigatory and enforcement powers of the Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange against listed companies and their directors.

CGMA programme – Special offer to QP-qualified Institute members

22-24 Jul. The Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) programme is offered by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) at a special rate for Institute members who qualified through the Qualification Programme (QP). The course provides training for the CIMA Strategic Case Study Exam and serves as a path to obtain the CGMA designation. The early bird enrolment deadline has been extended to 22 Jun and free information sessions will be held on 12 May and 16 Jun.
