Issue no. 501 (27 June 2014)

  Dear members/member practices,

  Highlights

Public consultation on listed entity auditors regulatory regime

The government has launched a public consultation on "Proposals to Improve the Regulatory Regime for Listed Entity Auditors." This is the next step in the process, following our member consultation ended earlier this year, to introduce an internationally recognized system of independent regulation of listed company auditors.

The Institute supports the need for reform and has been working closely with the government and FRC to assist in developing a system that meets international benchmarks while addressing local circumstances. Click to see the Institute's press releases and the government's consultation paper and FAQs. The consultation period will end on 19 Sept. The Institute will organize member engagement events to solicit views from our members in formulating our response. You are also encouraged to provide your views directly to the FSTB at rpirrlea@fstb.gov.hk.
