Implications of automatic exchange of information and base erosion and profits shifting initiatives on global mobility of employees

To increase transparency and better align taxation with value/profit creation, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has recently put forward two initiatives, Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) and the Base Erosion and Profits Shifting (BEPS) project. This article outlines the key objectives under these frameworks, looks into what the OCED is hoping to achieve, and the implications of both AEOI and BEPS from a global mobility perspective, and explores the potential issues for both employees and employers.

Mentorship programme kicks off 2017-2018 term. A ceremony and briefing session on 8 April 2017 formally marked the end of the Institute's Mentorship Programme's second term and the start of the third term. Attended by nearly 170 mentors and mentees, the gathering provided an opportunity for both of them to reflect on their experience during the mentoring process.
