Dr. Shirley Kan, Director of the Professional Accountancy Programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong Business School tells how QP workshops inspire students to integrate knowledge they have learned in the classroom with real-life working experience. She believes the reform of QP is a step in the right direction to help young accountants excel in the profession.

To increase transparency and better align taxation with value/profit creation, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has recently put forward two initiatives, Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) and the Base Erosion and Profits Shifting (BEPS) project. This article outlines the key objectives under these frameworks, looks into what the OCED is hoping to achieve, and the implications of both AEOI and BEPS from a global mobility perspective, and explores the potential issues for both employees and employers.
