Standard Chartered Marathon

 

Around 440 CPA runners participated in the Standard Chartered Marathon last Sunday. Members of the leadership team and past presidents ran in the 10km race of the Corporate Challenge Chairman Cup, and 12 elite CPA runners represented the Institute in the Corporate Challenge Marathon Cup in all three race categories. CPA runners from all race categories are welcome to attend the post-marathon drinks in March where trophies will be presented to those with outstanding results. Submit your official time and stay tuned for event details.


Cocktail reception in Guangzhou
If you are in Guangzhou on 7 Mar, you are welcome to join our cocktail reception at The Westin Guangzhou to interact with the Institute's new President, Vice Presidents and senior management. Enrol by 15 Feb.

Changes to GEM and qualifications for listing
Join the seminar on 12 Feb to learn more about the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's consultation conclusions on the Consultation Paper on the Review of the Growth Enterprise Market and Changes to the GEM and Main Board Listing Rules.

INED practices
The executive programme, starting on 24 Feb, will help you understand the roles and responsibilities of independent non-executive directors (INEDs), including considerations in accepting appointment, legal and regulatory issues, corporate governance skills and strategies to perform INED roles effectively.

Effective interview skills in hiring right talents
The soft-skills workshop on 13 Mar will teach you how to conduct an effective interview and essentials interviewing skills to hire the right people.

Reminders
Don't miss the China tax course starting on 10 Feb to learn more on key China taxation laws and practice and their application to tax computation. The course is a compulsory component of the Institute's Professional Diploma in China Tax. Registration deadline has been extended to 1 Feb.
Enrol in the seminar on 27 Feb to learn more about the requirements of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation.
Last call to join the 2018 FSIG cocktail reception on 5 Feb to understand the implication of the recent U.S. tax revolution for Asia, as well as network with fellow members in the new year.

CPA football competition winners

The CPA football competition concluded on 21 Jan. Thanks to all 21 teams who competed this year. EY won the competition by beating HLB 3:2. Lam Kai Wa of EY took home the medal for "speedy scorer." Click to see results and photos.


3-on-3 basketball competition

Form a team and join the 3-on-3 basketball competition on 4 Mar and enjoy the challenge of this fast-paced game.


Jazz classes

Beginners jazz class will continue on 10 Feb in Mongkok.


Snooker training courses

Pick up a new hobby or brush up your skills at the weekly snooker training courses beginning on 25 Feb. Beginner and intermediate sessions are available.


Tennis training courses

Come join the tennis training courses starting in late February and learn from a professional coach. Elementary and intermediate sessions are available.
