  Quality assurance report  

The Institute's quality assurance report 2014 is out now, summarizing the work of the Quality Assurance Department in practice review and professional standards monitoring in the past year. It highlights common review findings of which members should be aware.


Think Compliance forum

Come join the Think Compliance forum on 16 April, where the Institute's compliance team will explain the complaint and disciplinary processes, their recent changes and provide real examples to illustrate how members should deal with complaints.

 

PICIG cocktail

The Property, Infrastructure and Construction Interest Group cocktail will be held on 23 April, where guest speaker George Hongchoy, ED and CEO of The Link Management, which manages the Link REIT, will talk about retail property market.


Corporate governance, risk management and internal control

Practical experiences on adopting HKEx's corporate governance code updates will be covered in the seminar on 22 April, which will also review Hong Kong corporate governance environment. +


Resolve conflicts with mediation and arbitration

How to solve business conflicts in a legal, effective and affordable way? Come to the seminar on 16 April to learn more about mediation and arbitration. +


China heritage and cultural class in Guangzhou

To help young members learn more about China's political and economic affairs, a two-day class will be held on 25-26 April in Guangzhou. +


Reminders
The seminar on 13 April will explain the breakthrough Chinese tax rules on offshore indirect equity transfer. +
How does environmental, social and governance reporting affect the value of a company? Come to the seminar on 5 May to learn more. +
 
Photography sharing sessions
Professional photographers have been invited to sharing sessions in May and June to talk about commercial product and portrait photography, polar aurora, milky way and deep sky object photography.

Last call to enrol in the Basketball Interest Group team for the CPA Basketball Competition expected to begin in mid-May. A selection process will be conducted. +

IASB has published a document to set out the likely practical effects of the forthcoming standard on leases. +
 
Marathon results
Congratulations to our CPA runners for achieving great success in the Standard Chartered Marathon 2015. Winners of the CPA marathon competition and SRC Cup received their awards at the post-marathon drink on 24 March while winners of the Standard Chartered's Chairman Cup and Business Challenge Cup were awarded at the prize presentation ceremony on the same date.
