The Institute is establishing a Hong Kong Insurance Implementation Support Group to provide a forum for the industry to discuss or address challenges in implementing HKFRS 17 Insurance Contracts. The Institute is seeking 10 candidates for membership. Click for more details on how to apply.


Guideline to Disciplinary Committee for determining disciplinary orders
Compliance Department has released the Guideline to Disciplinary Committee for Determining Disciplinary Orders which provides a consistent and structured approach for Disciplinary Committees when determining sanctions and costs.

Financial Services Interest Group cocktail reception
Join the 2018 Financial Services Interest Group annual cocktail reception on 5 Feb where Peter Wong, Director of The Lion Rock Institute, will speak on the topic of "What does the Trump Tax Revolution mean for Asia?". This will also be a great opportunity to network with fellow members in the new year.

How to handle outstanding tax audit cases and speed up the settlement with relevant case studies
The seminar on 6 Feb will focus on how to handle estimated protective assessments issued by the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, discuss practical approach in handling and speeding up the tax audit cases in Hong Kong and cover detailed case analysis including cross-border cases, transfer pricing audit and tax understatement cases.

The Asia-Pacific Institute of Business, The Chinese University of Hong Kong will be running a series of seminar and workshop for the Digital Transformation Programs. Standard Chartered Marathon

The Standard Chartered Marathon is just around the corner. Visit us at the Causeway Bay Sports Ground next to the Hong Kong Central Library on marathon day (21 Jan). The Institute's booth will begin serving members at 6:30 a.m. providing storage service, refreshments, group photos and physiotherapy treatment.
