2018-19 government budget - Institute supportive of broad direction

The government's 2018-19 budget reflects a good year for Hong Kong's economy and offers a positive outlook for the near and medium-term. The Institute commented it could have included more specific measures to improve the competitiveness of the tax system, as well as to help both the less fortunate in society and small and medium sized enterprises. Click here for the Institute's press releases and budget proposals submitted earlier.

In the evening after the budget announcement, members attended a lively panel discussion on the budget with Hon. Regina Ip and Hon. Kenneth Leung.
