IFRS/HKFRS 9 seminar

The seminar on IFRS/ HKFRS 9 Financial Instruments on 15 Dec. will cover four areas including timeline and transition, classification of financial assets, impairment and hedge accounting. +


CPD tips: MyCPA = CPD declaration?

Keeping CPD records in MyCPA on the Institute website does not equate to your declaration of CPD compliance. You are still required to submit the CPD declaration using your 2016 Annual Return for Renewal online by 15 Dec.


Fighting cybercrimes from defensive perspective

Come to the Forensic Interest Group seminar on 15 Dec. to find out more about defensive measures against the increasing risk of cybercrimes and cyber breaches.


Data privacy and network security

The seminar on 16 Dec. will talk about the changes of Personal Data (Privacy) (Amendment) Ordinance 2012 that affect the accounting profession, how to identify cyber risk and solutions to minimize and transfer risk, as well as the trend of cyber insurance. +

The IFRS Foundation has prepared training materials for IFRS 9 Financial Instruments and IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
 
Sports competition results
The Institute's table tennis team won the championship, while the football team came second and the badminton team placed third in the cross-border sports competition held in Guangzhou on 29 Nov. with Guangzhou and Shenzhen counterparts, and the Trade Union of Guangzhou Municipal Finance Bureau. At the Hong Kong Medical Association family sports day on 29 Nov., the CPA running team comprising Leung Ka-kit, Tam King-tong, Tse Hoi-fat and Paul Tse won the championship with the fastest time of 49:03 seconds in the inter-professional 4 x 100m invitational relay race. Click to see photos.
