  Dear members/member practices,

Institute CE talks to SCMP on cross-border auditing

SCMP featured a front page story this week about the Mainland clearing a way for Hong Kong accountants to audit Chinese companies listed in Hong Kong. The Institute Chief Executive was quoted as saying that the Ministry of Finance has accepted many of the Institute's suggestions regarding its exposure draft on cross-border auditing. It results in Hong Kong CPAs being given special treatment, and the new rule does not ban Hong Kong firms from sending their staff into the Mainland to conduct audit work.
