Happy Chinese New Year! We wish every member a prosperous year in the year of the Horse.

The 2014-15 government budget will be announced on Wednesday, 26 February. A budget commentary forum will be held that evening. The speakers will provide their perspectives on the impact of the budget on the community and economy. Click here for details and enrolment.

Highlights of CPD events include:

	The seminar "Trust Planning with U.S. Beneficiaries " on 11 Feb will discuss about U.S. tax system, tax implications to offshore trust structure and tax issues for trust planning with U.S. beneficiaries.

	The seminar "2013 PRC Individual Income Tax Updates" on 28 Feb will talk about the latest regulations and local practices in relation to cross-border employment arrangements for foreigners working in China including PRC individual income tax, social security and visa policies.

	The seminar " Measuring the Fair Value of Non-tradable Financial Assets: issues and examples " on 31 March will talk about how to estimate credit value adjustments on financing assets and solutions on evaluating the risk and value of complex financial instruments.

	A Business Management Skills Series starting from February will discuss the key mindset and relationship building on self-leadership, change management and how to work with younger generations.

	The joint workshops on performance strategy: risk and control and professional competence in management accounting with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants are scheduled from March to May for members who intend to excel in financial and management skills and develop their business acumen and commercial awareness. These courses will also help prepare members to sit the P3 and T4 part B examinations of CIMA.
