Issue no. 46 (6 May 2010)

The Institute conducted an online survey in November last year to seek the views of our members regarding CPD events, to better understand members' CPD needs and to find out the most effective ways of communication channels with members on CPD activities.  We received valuable feedback from about 1,300 members. The result shows that the most preferred CPD event format is 1-2 hour face-to-face seminars and the top 3 competency topics of most interest to our members are Financial Accounting and Reporting; Taxation and Business Finance. The detailed results of the survey will inform the Institute's future CPD plans. Thank you to all those members who participated.

The highlights of CPD seminars for this month:
An evening seminar entitled "Family Office: Value Added Service for CPAs?" is scheduled on 26 May 2010.  Dr. Sidney Sze, the Founder President or Chairman of a number of associations, will share his insights on the handling of a family office as a private company structure providing wealth management services for the family. Click here to enroll now.
Mr. Steven Parker, the Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region in a global professional services firm in the areas of finance, accounting and risk will share with us "How to reduce cost, recover savings and improve procurement processes" on 26 May 2010. Please click here for details.
Speaker Mr. Terence Yeung, Managing Director of the TACSEN Management Consultants Limited, will re-run the popular workshop "Scientific Tool That Helps Improve Communication Power" on 29 May 2010. Lastly, if you have not attended a free briefing session to learn about the Competency Development Tool (CDT), please do not miss the last session scheduled on 10 June.
