Updated examination regulations
Effective from the June 2026 examination session, the possession, wearing, or use of any smart devices during QP examinations is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, smartphones, smart glasses, smart watches, smart earbuds, or fitness trackers etc. Any violation of this rule may result in disqualification from the entire examination session and/ or subject to further disciplinary action and sanctions pursuant to the Professional Accountants By-laws.
Reminders on workshop rules and examination regulations
Cases of violation of QP Workshop Rules and Examination Regulations were identified in the December 2025 Session, with the following disciplinary actions taken:
· 125 warning letters were issued to the convicted students who had violated Workshop Rules / Examination Regulations for the first time.
· 4 students received marks penalty in examinations from the results of the relevant paper for repeated violation of Examination Regulations. No marks deductions were imposed in this session’s workshop due to absence of repeated offence of Workshop Rules.
Students should carefully observe the following common violations identified to prevent any breach of Workshop Rules and Examination Regulations:
Common examination regulations violations:
- Using the wrong answer booklets
- Failing to produce the printout of the docket
- Writing names on the cover / inside answer booklets
- Failing to write answers in black or blue ink
Common workshop rules volations:
- Attending workshops in a public area
- Engaged in disruptive conduct that negatively affected the learning environment
Please remember that it is important to adhere to all Workshop Rules and Examination Regulations to avoid unnecessary penalties. Students should read through the Workshop Rules in section 3.8.1 and the Examination Regulations in section 3.9.3 of the QP Student Handbook.
