Experiential Business Learning Programme
The Experiential Business Learning Programme aims to facilitate practice units, in particular small and medium practices (SMPs), in developing a talent pipeline to meet their man-power needs, and to promote and groom future talents for the accounting profession.
The programme also offers students the opportunity to develop business acumen and receive practical experience through a structured programme that consists of a training workshop organized by the Institute, job placement at practice units, and work shadowing opportunity at business organization. The students will gain valuable exposure from the participating CPA firms and their clients, as well as the participating business organizations. They will be also supported by professional colleagues throughout the progamme.
The programme consists of three components:
1. Training workshop (26 – 27 May 2026)
A two-day workshop will be organized by the Institute before commencement of the job placement to provide students with fundamental knowledge in relation to business etiquette, accounting and auditing, working practices, and more.
2. (Optional) Work shadowing scheme (28 – 29 May 2026)
Students who have signed the job placement contract with practice unit will be eligible to apply for a two-day work shadowing scheme, offers on a first-come, first-served basis. The purpose is to enable students to personally experience and gain insight into the day-to-day work of a professional accountant in business either as a company or in person.
3. Job placement (June – August 2026)
Students will be assigned to practice units (mainly SMPs) for 10-weeks job placements from June to August 2026. The actual work period, arrangements and remuneration have to be mutually agreed by the respective practice unit and student. The suggested job placement period is from 1 June to 9 August 2026.
Other benefits:
A certificate of completion issued by the Institute and application fee waiver for the Qualification Programme (QP) will be awarded to students upon completion of the programme.
