Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Elects President and Vice-Presidents

Today, following the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA)’s 53rd annual general meeting (AGM), the HKICPA Council elected LAW Cheuk Kin, Stephen, JP as President, and LEE Shun Yi, Jasmine and TSE Hoi Fat, Calvin as Vice-Presidents.

Stephen Law is a CPA (practising) and first served as a co-opted Council member in 2010 and 2011, and elected Council member from 2012 to 2017, and again from 2022 onwards. He served as Vice-President of the Institute from 2024 to 2025.

Mr. Law is the Managing Director of ZhongYi Investment Managers Limited. He is a multi-skilled business and finance professional with expertise in executive management at board and C-level of large enterprises. He also has extensive experience in private equity and asset management. He was previously an executive director of MTR Corporation Ltd and a Managing Director of TPG. Mr. Law holds the CPA (practising) designation and is a Justice of Peace (JP), a member of the CPPCC National Committee, and has also been appointed by the Ministry of Finance in Chinese Mainland as an expert consultant, proactively serving society with his profession.

Mr. Law has actively contributed to the development of the accounting profession. He participates in a wide range of HKICPA committees and groups. He is currently the Chairman of the Branding and Communication Committee, member of the Executive Committee, the Audit Committee, the Corporate Finance Committee and the Nomination Committee. He also participated in over ten committees and panels of the Institute, including chairing the Corporate Finance Committee and the Professional Accountants in Business Committee.

Jasmine Lee was elected as a Council member since 2022, and was the Vice-President of the Institute in 2025. While Calvin Tse was elected as a Council member since 2022.

All of the elected 2024/25 Council members vacated their positions at the conclusion of the 53rd AGM and 14 members are elected to Council for 2025/26. Among the 14 elected Council members, Stephen Law and Jasmine Lee are eligible past Vice-Presidents who are deemed to have been elected under the Professional Accountants Ordinance. The terms of office of the President and Vice-Presidents are one year respectively. Elected Council members will serve for a term of two years.

The Government appointed AU King Lun, MH, JP, PhD; CHOI Heung Kwan, Agnes, MH; HO Shuk Ying, Sabrina and LIU Yang, Edward, MH as the lay members of the Council. In addition, there are two ex-officio members of the Council: WONG Kit Yee, Kinnie, JP, representative of the Financial Secretary, and NG Wai Man, Raymond, JP, Director of Accounting Services.
