Updated arrangement for library facilities

In light of further sign of stabilization of the local coronavirus situation, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced the reopening of the library facilities with effect from 18 February 2021 (Thursday).

Financial controllership

The Financial Controllership Programme ("FCP") is a unique, tailor-made, practical training programme providing participants with insights into the work involved as a financial controller. Over 16 days, participants will learn from experienced course directors and facilitators how to become an effective financial controller who adds value to their employer's business.

Financial Controllership Programme ("FCP") 

The FCP is entering its fifth session. The 2021 programme (or individual modules) will be available soon.


The objective of the programme is to develop competencies expected of a skilled financial controller, providing participants with:


• The core technical knowledge and skills expected of a financial controller 
• Insights into the work involved as a financial controller and how to add value to the business


Successful completion of the FCP leads to a professional certificate from the Institute.


Target Participants and Eligibility

I.   Aspiring and recently appointed financial controllers
II.  Existing financial controllers who wish to refresh their skills
III.  Members preparing to move from practice into business


HKICPA members with at least 5 years post-CPA qualification work experience are eligible to enrol. 
Practical experience is highly desirable for participants to benefit fully from the FCP.


Recognition by CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)

CIMA offers additional examination paper exemption to HKICPA members who have successfully completed the FCP.
FCP graduates will only need to pass CIMA/CGMA's final Strategic Case Study Exam and meet practical experience requirements to obtain CIMA membership and CGMA designation.
