Testimonials from members who have attained the CIA designation

Alva Lee
Partner, KPMG Advisory (Hong Kong) Limited

"The CIA is the only globally-recognised certification for the internal audit profession. Having both the CPA and CIA designations is crucial to my consulting career. It gives confidence to my international clients that I have the professional knowledge needed to advise them on internal audit best practices and international standards. The CIA is not only relevant to internal audit practitioners but also to professional accountants as it can expand your career opportunities. By going through the certification process, you will acquire knowledge on organisational governance, risk management and control, which is essential and fundamental to good corporate governance."

Ian Lee
Audit & Risk Management Manager, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels

"Internal auditing has evolved from being a reviewer of financial reporting and regulatory compliance material to being an adviser and helping organizations to improve their operational effectiveness and efficiency. Internal auditors are now a strategic business partner and we must make sure that our skillsets are able to keep pace with the evolving responsibilities required of an auditor. The CIA designation showcases your credentials in internal auditing.

Through combining the accounting and financial knowledge gained from the Institute's Qualification Programme, the auditing and risk management knowledge from the CIA qualification, and the practical experience and soft skills training gained through work, I am equipped with the hard and soft skills I need to succeed in this ever-changing business world."
