Rich Kid, Poor Kid programme

With its status as one of the largest professional bodies in Hong Kong, the Institute has long had a strong commitment to demonstrating good corporate social responsibility.

“Rich Kid, Poor Kid”, the Institute’s very own corporate social responsibility programme, has allowed the Institute to play a key role in the financial education of future generations since its inception in 2005. With the continued support of our Accountant Ambassador members, the Institute encourages them to utilize their unique expertise and skill-sets of CPAs to contribute to society.

Since the programme’s establishment, Accountant Ambassadors have visited more than 600 primary and secondary schools, and held around 800 free financial seminars – reaching more than 140,000 students in an interactive way, educating young children and teenagers on positive financial management concepts and techniques. Thanks to our Accountant Ambassadors for participating in this good course, we are raising the public awareness of the importance of good financial management.

“Rich Kid, Poor Kid” has won multiple accolades from a wide range of bodies, including "2019 Financial Education Champion" by the Hong Kong Strategy for Financial Literacy; the Asia Pacific PR Awards "Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign of the Year"; and a certificate of excellence for "Non- profit Campaign of the Year”. The programme was also given a gold award for non-profit organizations for its documentary video and "Best of Show" in the QUESTAR International Competition.

Students enjoy themselves and actively participate in the Q&A session.
